A few days after Christmas, I had the pleasure of photographing a family that I've know since childhood. Joanne hired me to capture family portraits at her lovely home in Natick. She wanted some fun photos especially of her granddaughters, that she could use for a New Year's card. To help my clients feel comfortable in front of the camera I always ask them to do a few things that make them laugh and relax. Try this the next time your going to have your photo taken: before you hold your pose, shake out your hands for a few seconds and let then slowly rest them in place. I've noticed that this one step releases tension, calms the mind and helps a natural smile shine through.
